MIAMI – The Miami Marlins are kicking off their 2025 season with a unique twist, turning Opening Day into “Opening Dade” with a star-studded lineup of events.

Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback and Miami Dolphins legend Dan Marino will throw out the ceremonial first pitch as the team will face the Pittsburgh Pirates on March 27, at 4:10 p.m. at loanDepot park.
“Opening Day is always such a special celebration that brings our community and organization together,” said Marlins President of Business Caroline O’Connor. “We’re excited to have a South Florida sports icon like Dan Marino join us and help take the occasion to the next level. We can’t wait to welcome fans back for another exciting season of Marlins Baseball at loanDepot park, and there are more surprises coming to make this day even more memorable.”
Dan Marino expressed his excitement for the event in a news release, saying, “I’m honored by the invitation to throw the ceremonial first pitch for the Miami Marlins on Opening Day. It will be very special for me to return to the site of many memories and where the community made it home for me. I look forward to being back for this special moment, surrounded by the great fans of South Florida.”
