JUPITER, Fla. – When the Miami Marlins take the field Saturday for a 1:10 p.m. battle vs. the St. Louis Cardinals at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter, it will be fans’ first look at the new club led by first-year manager Clayton McCullough.

McCullough, who is taking over for Skip Schumaker now with the Texas Rangers, is leading a young Marlins roster aiming to surprise people in the upcoming 2025 season.
“Excited for all of this,” McCullough said to reporters at the team’s Media Day.
The Marlins will send out right-handed pitcher Valente Bellozo to kick off spring training, who made his professional debut with the Marlins in 2024.
Bellozo will go toe-to-toe against the 31-year-old Erick Fedde, who is gearing up for his second season with the Cardinals.

Concluding Saturday, the Marlins will head to Port St. Lucie to take on the New York Mets Sunday afternoon at 1:10 p.m., where Marlins right-handed pitcher Sandy Alcantara makes his return to the mound for the first time since 2023.
