This Week in South Florida: Democratic Broward sheriff candidates — sans Tony — talk crime

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Three out of the four Democratic candidates for Broward County sheriff appeared on “This Week in South Florida” on Sunday, with one notable exception: incumbent Sheriff Gregory Tony.

Tony did not respond to several invitations to join host Glenna Milberg and his opponents on Sunday and has participated in relatively few community candidate forums.

Tony’s opponents are former Plantation police veteran Steven Geller, former Pembroke Park police Chief David Howard and former Broward Sheriff’s Office Col. Al Pollock.

All three criticized Tony’s tenure leading the sheriff’s office and shared their solutions for bringing down crime in Broward.

The conversation can be viewed at the top of this page.
