Every member of Congress was up for election this year. Of the seven South Florida districts, six lean Democrat or Republican, but one is so evenly split that voters have flipped the district a few times over the last decade.
District 27 stretches from downtown Miami and Key Biscayne, to Kendall to Pinecrest and Cutler Bay.
Incumbent Republican Congresswoman Maria Salazar is running for a third term. She declined our invitation to be on “This Week in South Florida,” saying she believes voters are already well-informed about her and where she is on the issues, but her Democratic challenger, Lucia Báez-Geller, joined us Sunday.
