The rules are expected to be approved by the FIFA Council next month and would take effect on Jan. 1. ā€œWe think these rules are part of common sense,ā€ he said of the move, which follow International Labor Organization standards on compensating maternity leave. Stuart Franklin/Getty Images(CNN) - US women's soccer star Alex Morgan, who came under fire for miming sipping tea after a goal against England on Tuesday at the 2019 Women's World Cup, is defending her celebration. She called the criticism a double standard for female and male athletes. "And when I look at sipping a cup of tea, I'm a little taken aback" by the criticism. Turner congratulated Morgan and the USWNT on their win in an Instagram Story on Friday. "Unfortunately, the UK women's football team lost at the World Cup, and of course, I'm incredibly sad," Turner said.

Stuart Franklin/Getty Images(CNN) - The U.S. Women's National Soccer team has caused quite the stir with its celebrations at the Women's World Cup, and Alex Morgan became the latest to milk a goal in Lyon on Tuesday. Approximately 100 million cups of tea are drunk by the British each day-- almost 36 billion per year -- according to the UK Tea and Infusions Association. Morgan's celebration was lapped up by some, notably Hillary Clinton: "Congrats to the #USWNT for earning that tea," the 2016 presidential candidate tweeted. Morgan's celebration proved not to be everyone's cup of tea. As the World Cup reaches boiling point, there is still plenty more drama brewing.
