CORAL GABLES, Fla. A Coral Gables police officer struck a pedestrian with their cruiser late Monday night, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred just before 11 p.m. on Bird Road and Southwest 37th Avenue. City of Miami police officers were the first to arrive at the scene. The victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. The officer and pedestrians identities have not yet been released.

Surveillance video showed a black pickup truck similar to Vasquezs, appearing to be speeding down Bird Road moments before the crash. According to her arrest report, Vasquezs truck was traveling at 82.7 mph at the moment of impact and 101.2 mph just one second before impact.

A water main break along Bird Road between 87th and 89th avenues created traffic headaches for Tuesday drivers in Miami-Dade County’s Westchester area. A portion of the water main was isolated so that workres could excavate the pipe. A spokesperson with Miami Dade Water and Sewer told Local 10 that the break was not caused by construction, but was a “natural” break.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. - A child pornography investigation is being conducted at a day care center by Homeland Security Investigations and Miami-Dade police. The Little Seeds Academy is located off Bird Road and Southwest 104th Avenue in southwest Miami-Dade County. Officials said the day care is also a residence. "She just started recently in May, but still, each second would be too long here, I guess, after finding this out," Sophie Ramirez, whose daughter attends the day care, said. According to Homeland Security Investigations, the federal search warrant was executed Monday and is focusing on a suspect that lives at the day care but doesn't work there.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. - Two people are in custody after trying to rob two men at gunpoint near a Burger King, authorities said. According to police, the victims were walking toward the Burger King on Bird Road and Southwest 97th Avenue Wednesday afternoon when one of the suspects pulled out a gun and demanded the victims' property. Police said a physical altercation ensued and the gun went off, striking one of the suspects in the hand. Police said the duo fled the scene and an officer spotted their car pulling into Westchester General Hospital. According to authorities, the victims suffered minor injuries during the fight.

SOUTH MIAMI, Fla. – A garbage truck collided with an SUV and then slammed into a recording studio owned by Gloria Estefan early Monday in South Miami, authorities said. The impact of the initial collision sent the SUV into a third vehicle, Camacho said. Paramedics transported two people who were riding in the garbage truck to Kendall Regional Medical Center. Camacho said the passenger of the truck jumped from vehicle before it hit the building, possibly saving that person's life. It serves as a recording studio for Estefan and her family.
