DAVIE, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins have not made a change at offensive coordinator, at least not yet. ESPN published an article Monday in which insider Adam Schefter reported that the Dolphins are moving on from Chan Gailey. If the Dolphins do make a change at offensive coordinator, it would be the second straight season that they’ve done so. The Dolphins’ season ended with a 56-26 loss at Buffalo on Sunday. After the game, rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said that he and Gailey had a good relationship.

DAVIE, Fla. – Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is trying to work his way back from a thumb injury that kept him out of Miami’s 20-3 win over the Jets on Sunday. On Tuesday, offensive coordinator Chan Gailey talked about his rookie protege. Gailey said, ā€œI didn’t really get a chance to talk to him after the game about how he felt. I don’t know until we get back into the office Wednesday what the status is, but I know he’s working hard to get ready, he’s a tough guy.ā€Gailey compared Tagovailoa to veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick in terms of his ability to change plays. I think he’s getting a better idea of it.ā€Gailey emphasized that Tagovailoa simply doesn’t have as much experience with the receivers yet.

DAVIE, Fla. – Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is getting rave reviews from his offensive coordinator. Gailey said, ā€œHe has a tremendous feel for the game. That allows him to see some things and do some things, throw the ball in some spots other people might not do. He wasn’t thinking about adversity, he was thinking about how can we go be successful. That will carry a person a long way.ā€The Dolphins trailed the Cardinals 31-24 heading into the fourth quarter on Sunday.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick (14) looks to pass the ball during the first half of an NFL football game against the Seattle Seahawks, Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020 in Miami Gardens, Fla. (AP Photo/Wilfredo Lee)MIAMI – Ryan Fitzpatrick will remain the Miami Dolphins’ starting quarterback for at least another week, further delaying the NFL debut of Tua Tagovailoa. The Dolphins announced Tuesday on Twitter that Fitzpatrick will get the nod Sunday at San Francisco. Against the Seahawks, Miami settled for field goals on five consecutive scoring drives, but Gailey declined to blame Fitzpatrick. ā€œHe’s one play away from going in to play,ā€ Gailey said. ā€œHe’s a rookie who hasn’t played a preseason game or been in a game at all.

MIAMI Tua Tagovailoa was easy to identify Thursday even though he wore teammate Ryan Fitzpatrick's jersey and a mask to his first media session of training camp. Tagovailoa is happy to keep a low profile befitting his rookie status, even though he's widely hailed as the Miami Dolphins' future franchise quarterback. A former star at Alabama, Tagovailoa knows how to deal with the pressure of great expectations. But Tagovailoa will be difficult to overlook because he's full of potential and personality. As far as how I feel right now, everything is going well. That's what the Dolphins want to hear.
