CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Trajan Bandy’s career with the Miami Hurricanes is over. The defensive back announced Friday that he was leaving for the NFL draft. In a social media post, Bandy cited “a number of unforeseen off the field circumstances and discussions with my family” as the reason he’s leaving school early. Bandy thanked the coaching staff, including current head coach Manny Diaz and former 'Canes head coach Mark Richt. Bandy’s biggest play at Miami came with a interception return for a touchdown against Notre Dame in a nationally televised game in 2017, helping the Hurricanes improve to 10-0.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The rivalry game between Florida State and Miami will air at 3:30 p.m. next Saturday on Local 10. Florida State and Miami enter the game with identical overall records after coming off wins against Syracuse and Pittsburgh, respectively. Kehoe has been with the Canes program for 31 years. Kehoe has 5 national championship rings. Richt is bringing in former Virginia Tech offensive line coach Stacy Searels.

"I'm very excited about Manny Diaz becoming our defensive coordinator," Miami head coach Mark Richt said in a statement Saturday. In 2015, Diaz served as defensive coordinator at Mississippi State. Diaz spent the 2014 season as defensive coordinator at Louisiana Tech after three seasons at Texas. Prior to his first stint at Mississippi State, Diaz spent four seasons as defensive coordinator at Middle Tennessee State.
