KFC is testing a chicken sandwich held together by donuts in place of a bun. Customers have two options: a chicken and doughnut basket meal for $5.49, which includes chicken tenders or bone-chicken plus a doughnut; or a chicken sandwich for $5.99, featuring a fried chicken patty between two doughnut buns -- the much more exciting option. Or maybe they're just trying to capitalize on some of the chicken sandwich craze. (CNN) - Taco Bell is debuting a vegetarian section on its newly redesigned menu, which also includes two new items. Those are in addition to its two other existing vegetarian options that will be displayed prominently in a new "Vegetarian Favorites" menu. In total, there are more than a dozen vegetarian items on Taco Bell's menu. Taco Bell emphasized that non-vegetarian items can be made vegetarian by substituting beans for meat. Taco Bell said in a release said it plans to "further innovate in this growing space."

Apparently, KFC believes the answer to question is a big orange "no." The fast food giant unveiled its new Cheetos chicken sandwich to be sold nationwide starting on July 1. Cheetos sandwich, you say? Other than the crispy fried chicken, the sandwich will include actual Cheetos and Cheetos-flavored sauce and mayo. "For years, people have been creating their own versions of a Cheetos-fied sandwich at home and now the fried chicken experts at KFC are launching the Cheetos Sandwich across the U.S. and giving fans the cheesy, crispy crunch that they’ll love," a press release said.
