The district attorney of Los Angeles County says he does not support the resentencing of Lyle and Erik Menendez.

A new sentencing hearing for brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez in the killing of their parents has been delayed for nearly two months because of Southern California’s wildfires.

The new Los Angeles County district attorney has met with the Menendez brothers’ family as he continues to review the brothers' bid for freedom 35 years after they were convicted of killing their parents.

A judge has delayed until January his decision on whether to resentence Erik and Lyle Menendez for killing their parents in their Beverly Hills mansion 35 years ago.

More than a dozen family members of the convicted Menendez brothers are calling for their release from prison following the 1989 killings of their parents.
