A measure on the primary ballot includes a non-binding question about expanding rapid transit in the county, specifically the existing Metromover and Metrorail systems. It comes as choking congestion prompts county commissioners to look at elevated rail along the county’s East-West Corridor: a Metromover expansion along Flagler Street to Florida International University.

BROWNSVILLE, Fla. – Detectives witnessed a shooting and saw a man running before he collapsed and died on Tuesday in Miami-Dade County’s Brownsville neighborhood, police said. The detectives, who work for the department’s burglary unit, also saw a white sports utility vehicle and a U-Haul rental box truck speeding away, Zabaleta said. Officers found a box truck matching the detectives’ description and detained two people near the intersection of East Third Avenue and East Eighth Street, police said. Miami-Dade detectives are investigating if a U-Haul box truck found in Hialeah is related to a fatal shooting on Tuesday in Brownsville.
