When Local 10 arrived at the scene, a 4-door Infiniti was wrecked and mangled after crashing into a palm tree. SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – A shooting in the Goulds neighborhood has left two teens and a young boy injured. Miami-Dade Police responded Sunday afternoon to the courtyard of a residential community regarding several people shot near Southwest 216th Street and Southwest 113th Avenue, just north of Goulds Park. When police arrived around 3 p.m., they said they discovered three male shooting victims — a 9, 14 and 17-year-old. Detectives did say that the key to solving the case will come from neighbors and other people who were in the area when the shooting happened. ā€œAt this point in time, we don’t have a lot of information, so we’re going to require the community’s assistance in providing additional information,ā€ Welch said.

BAY HARBOR ISLANDS, Fla. – An elderly couple was able to escape a massive fire inside their Bay Harbor Islands home. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews were called to the scene just after 8 a.m. Friday to find the first floor engulfed in flames and thick smoke billowing out of the home. Investigators said the couple who lived inside had escaped and were sitting outside of the home waiting for crews to arrive. Neighbor Gerardo Feterman said he saw flames coming through the roof and through the windows of the second floor. ā€œThey were really, really massive.ā€Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews responded quickly to get the fire under control, but those who witnessed it said it was a scary scene.

MIAMI, Fla. – Before it was Tropical Storm Sally, Tropical Depression 19 made landfall near Black Point Marina in south Miami-Dade on Saturday, bringing heavy rains and causing gusts of more than 40 miles an hour. The storm snapped tree limbs and scattered debris across roads in Cutler Bay. Along South Beach, a driver parked where he thought his car would be safe but he told Local 10 that there was a whoosh of wind and then a crack. TD19 eventually strengthening into Tropical Storm Sally, but before it made its way into the gulf, it dumped several inches of rain over South Florida. Local 10 Weather Authority’s Luke Dorris said Sunday’s weather will be stormy with more heavy rain, but storm activity will be scattered.

For the third consecutive day, Broward County set a single day record with 1,664 new cases, continuing a surge in numbers. While most hospitals are not at capacity, places like Jackson Memorial Hospital, are slowing down elective procedures to focus on urgent surgeries and to help keep the dwindling bed spaces open. A woman told Local 10 that she learned about that first hand when she called Memorial Hospital Pembroke on Sunday morning about getting her husband to the hospital. Currently, Florida makes up 20 percent of all coronavirus cases in the United States.
