FORT LAUDERDALE, Fls. Authorities in Broward County have linked a man arrested following a police chase to a pair of bodies found on the beach earlier this month. According to Fort Lauderdale police, forensic evidence taken at the location of the bodies linked Daniel Dovi to the scene. Police arrested Dovi on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault and fleeing and eluding. On Monday, authorities announced new charges for Dovi following his being linked to the two deaths.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. The two men found stabbed to death behind a luxury condominium on the beach at Galt Ocean Mile were homeless, according to an update from Fort Lauderdale police. Their bodies were found about 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, at 3100 N. Ocean Boulevard behind LHermitage condominiums. The Fort Lauderdale Police Department withheld their identities as they attempted to locate next of kin. Daniel Dovi, 64, faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault and feeling and eluding. Dovi was arrested on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault and fleeing and eluding.

Fort Lauderdale Police Department detectives are also investigating Dovi in the case of the two men killed in Lauderdale Beach.

(CNN) - Michael Jones, the Florida man suspected of killing his wife and four children and driving with their bodies in his van for weeks, was denied bond in court in Marion County on Thursday. He faces a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife, authorities said. The Marion County Sheriff's Office said it's believed that Jones killed them in Florida weeks ago, and then stored their bodies and drove them into southern Georgia. When police arrived at the crash scene Sunday night, deputies "smelled a foul odor" coming from Michael Jones' van, according to a Brantley County, Georgia, Sheriff's Office press release. Michael Jones also admitted to concealing the death of other bodies just prior to the traffic accident, the Brantley County Sheriff's Office said.
