MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A man killed in a hit-and-run crash early Tuesday in Miami Beach has been identified as Andrew Hamilton, 27, who was a tourist visiting from the U.K.Police said a man driving a silver BMW sped past a police office on Collins Avenue near 15th Street about 2:30 a.m. When the officer went to investigate, he found Hamilton dead in the street near Collins Avenue at 11th Street. "He was traveling southbound from about 15th Street at a very high rate of speed, which resulted in this tragedy," Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez said. Police questioned three women who were in the car, but said the driver ditched the car and ran off. Anyone with information about the identity of the driver is asked to call Miami Beach police or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A man was taken into custody early Saturday after removing the covers from a woman who was sleeping on her sofa inside a Miami Beach apartment, police said. The next day, officers were were conducting a surveillance detail in response to a serial burglar who had been breaking into women's homes throughout Miami Beach, Miami and Coral Gables. Detectives said they saw Gamez loitering near the latest victim's apartment and took him to a police station for questioning. Detectives said Gamez told them that he turned off the TV and lights to conceal himself, but fled the home once the victim started screaming. Miami Beach police spokeswoman Vivian Thayer said further investigation revealed that Gamez is not the serial burglar wanted by multiple law enforcement agencies.

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A man accused of slashing his roommate's neck after they got into an argument last week was found Monday morning in Pompano Beach, Broward County sheriff's spokeswoman Gina Carter said. Detectives said Wilson stabbed Gougeon multiple times until he collapsed in the bathtub. Deputies found Gougeon sitting on a bench at a neighbor's home, bleeding profusely from his neck. MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Miami Beach police are searching for a man who robbed a Dollar Store Friday at gunpoint. Surveillance video shows a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt approach the cash register, brandishing what appears to be a firearm wrapped in a blue and white handkerchief. Police said the man told the clerk in Spanish, "This is a robbery and I have a gun." Police said the clerk had to ring up a box of toothpaste to open the cash register and then handed the man the cash box. Surveillance video then shows the man walk out of the store.

AVENTURA, Fla. – Newly released dashcam video shows a police-involved shooting from May inside a parking garage at Aventura Mall. According to police, an officer spotted the couple May 13 in a Honda Accord that was reported stolen in Hollywood. Police said the officer ordered the suspects out of the car, but Kenneth Taylor, 19, took off in the second floor of the parking garage near Bloomingdale's, nearly hitting the officer. Police said Taylor struck the officer's vehicle, as well as a number of other vehicles in the garage and a garage pillar. The video shows Taylor lay on the ground as responding officers arrest him at gunpoint.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A man who robbed a Regions Bank in Miami Beach Thursday before being fatally shot by a SWAT team had previous run-ins with law enforcement. "But you never know when somebody robs a bank just down the block and needs a place to hold up. With no luck, Miami Beach SWAT team members fired nearly two dozen tear gas canisters in the apartment's windows, which shattered many of the windows. With no response and no movement inside, the SWAT team moved in. Local 10 News' sources said the SWAT team officers felt they had no choice but to shoot, killing Joseph instantly.

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A woman is facing charges after biting part of a man's ear off in Pompano Beach while breaking up a fight between the victim and her son Oct. 17, the Broward Sheriff's Office said. Walter Chace, 55, told deptuies that he was sitting on his balcony smoking a cigarette when he spotted the mother and son. He said he yelled at them to get away from his trailer, and said Smigels responded, "(Expletive) you, nobody tells me what to do." Deputies eventually arrived, broke up the fight and transported Chace to the hospital. A surgeon was not able to reattach the one-third portion of Chace's ear due to risk of significant infection.

Surveillance video shows 30-year-old Travis Holmes and 25-year-old Caudrey Mack walk in through the back entrance of the store at about 6 a.m. Police said the manager saw Holmes and Mack run off on foot and also spotted a white Nissan Maxima drive away. MIAMI – A woman is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after police say she was run over by a car in broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon. The driver of the car then ran over her body before driving eastbound on 10th Street. "We don't know what happened, whether she was ejected on her own or was pushed out of the vehicle." Surveillance video doesn't show how she ended up on the ground, but it shows the rear tires of the truck running over the woman and the truck driving away. Miami Police are now looking for a man in his 30s who may be driving an older model dark colored Dodge Ram pickup truck.
