MIAMI - The Miami Heat announced Saturday that Dion Waiters has been suspended for one game for conduct detrimental to the team. During the Heat's preseason finale against the visiting Houston Rockets on Friday night, Waiters and head coach Erik Spoelstra got into a heated exchange, which contributed to the decision by the team. "There were a number of unacceptable incidents this week, culminating with his unprofessional conduct on the bench last night," Heat President Pat Riley said in a statement. Following the suspension, Waiters took to social media in a series of public comments, including taking apparent shots at Spoelstra and rookie first-round pick Tyler Herro, while also liking comments that suggested the Heat should explore trading or waiving the guard. Waiters will be eligible to return to the team on Thursday.
