Over four years after a fatal police-involved shooting in Broward County, Miami-Dade Officer Leslie Lee who was involved in the shooting surrendered to Broward Sheriff’s Office correctional deputies on Saturday after three of his colleagues surrendered on Friday.

Four Miami-Dade police officers have been indicted by a grand jury in connection with a fatal 2019 shootout involving police and two men who had hijacked a UPS truck, the Police Benevolent Association confirmed to Local 10 News Monday.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Two surveillance videos show the events surrounding a Wednesday night shootout between Miami-Dade police detectives and a gunman riding a scooter that injured a woman caught in the crossfire, police said. The shootout occurred just before 9 p.m. near Northwest 66th Street and Northwest 22nd Avenue. Surveillance video shows what appears to be a plain-clothed detective shooting at a man out of frame near a Wings on Fire restaurant. Miami-Dade police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said robbery detectives attempted a traffic stop on a man riding a scooter when he opened fire at them. Meanwhile, near Northwest 54th Street and Northwest 22nd Avenue, detectives found a woman inside the red car suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
