MIAMI – Local 10 News Weather Authority tracked Hurricane Oscar and Tropical Storm Nadine on Saturday afternoon.
The National Hurricane Center Miami reported a “tiny” Hurricane Oscar formed Saturday near the Bahamas. A hurricane warning was in effect for the Turks and Caicos Islands and the southeastern Bahamas. Cubas issued a hurricane watch for the Guantanamo, Holguin, and Las Tunas provinces.
Tropical Storm Nadine formed off Mexico’s southern Caribbean coast and was moving inland across Belize. A tropical storm warning was in effect for Belize City and from Belize to Cancun, Mexico, including Cozumel.
Nadine was expected to move across Belize, northern Guatemala, and southern Mexico through Sunday.
NHC expects widespread 4 to 8 inches of rainfall across northern Belize, northern Guatemala, and southern Mexican states from Quintana Roo westward to Veracruz. Isolated areas of amounts exceeding 12 inches are also possible through late Tuesday.
