MIAMI – South Florida residents and visitors are waking up to a crisp and comfortable Monday morning as temperatures in Miami and Fort Lauderdale hover in the mid-60s, signaling a pleasant start to the holiday week.
Local 10 meteorologist Julie Durda said ideal weather conditions for those running last-minute holiday errands or preparing to travel.
“Mother nature is making my job easy this morning,” said Durda. “Our winds from the north are keeping temperatures cool, but we’ll see a slight shift this afternoon as an east breeze brings in a bit more cloud cover.”
While temperatures are 4 to 5 degrees warmer than over the weekend, the region remains in a comfortable range. Highs are expected to reach the upper 70s later in the day, providing a perfect balance for outdoor activities.
Durda warned of a slight chance of isolated showers as winds veer off the ocean, but she reassured viewers that any rain would be minimal and unlikely to disrupt plans.
“Get those errands done, pick up last-minute gifts, and enjoy the day,” she added.
The forecast marks a stark contrast to weather conditions in other parts of the country, where winter storms are causing travel headaches.
For South Florida, the focus remains on enjoying the mild temperatures and preparing for holiday celebrations with family and friends.
As the week progresses, residents can expect a warming trend, with temperatures climbing gradually toward Christmas Day.
